Over break, I got to enjoy some down time which included reading. Woohoo! Okay so I read Unbound and Fiendish. I'm kinda into creepy book lately. Not sure why.
Unbound by Victoria Schwab: This book was just as haunting as the first. Mackenzie is now having flashbacks to what happened at the end of the last book. No spoilers here. :) She feels she is starting to go crazy and must hide it from the Archive. This book is a mystery, combined with action and suspense, and adds a whole kind of creep factors to it. It's a great book for anyone that wants a fast paced read with an original plot. as great as dystopian novels are, I personally and getting kind of sick of them. #bookworm problems. Anyway, I am now dying to read the third book in this series. It doesn't even have a release date yet! Are you kidding me?! I spent probably an hour trying to figure out how to get my hands on the next book. Oh well.
Fiendish by Beanna Yovanoff: Again, you can tell I've been into creeptastic books lately. This book had an old New Orleans vibe to it. It would be a great book for anyone who read and loved Beautiful Creatures. It starts out with a young girl named Clementine. She is buried in a cellar during a fire. Then she is discovered ten years later by a boy. Her eyes are sewn shut and she is found with a magic trick bag around her neck. Apparently before she was buried away, strange occurrences happened around the town. Now we the reader are trying to figure out Clementine's role in it all. This is a story weaved with old magic and a tale of small town occurrences. I highly recommend it.
